Welcome back to Tiny Thoughts! Below are a fresh batch of my insights, experiences, and observations on AI. Got something juicy to add? I'd love to hear from you!
This week I kept running into themes of technological change and how we humans navigate that change.

The 1 thing framework
No matter what I do, I often return to the 80/20 principle. The other day, I realized that 80% of my snacks came from 20% of my pantry (what can I say, I like a good trail mix! 😋). In our work, this usually means focusing on the 20% of your expertise that delivers 80% of value. Don’t sell ten things you do adequately. Identify the ONE problem you solve better than anyone else. Your business transforms when you become known for one specific solution.
AI can help. Want to know how? Check out my upcoming three-day course.
Do we even need humans in the AI era?
Highlight from a recent lightning lesson: "Your expertise matters, even in the age of AI. Companies are trying to understand how to leverage AI technology, not just adopt it. Just like your favorite AI assistant, you could always drop questions into the minds of smart analysts and get answers. But that was never what I handed the client. There was always contextualizing insight, applying judgment, framing recommendations.
You’re not outsourcing any of that to AI. As a [consultant/founder/employee], 95% of the value we provide is in aligning, influencing, and motivating people. AI does none of that. There’s always going to be opportunity and need for wisdom and real insight versus just information."

Probable AI futures
There’s a wide range of discussion of potential futures for AI. It’s just a toy! We’re all doomed! Neither extreme is likely and instead, AI is continuing to improve on a linear or exponential rate. Few are thinking about the more realistic, near-term impacts that AI brings (and it’s worth planning for them).
